STARS!!!!!

Whats up!!! This is Evan and today I am going to tell you about..... STARS!!!! Our sun is a star and it is huge but there are tuns of stars that are a lot bigger than the sun.

The first thing I will talk about is how stars shine. All stars are like glowing plasma just big balls of it. The stars are held together by there own gravity. They shine because of what the gases do inside of the stars. The gases do what is called nuclear fusion. This happens when two atoms in the gas come together and forms another atom. This makes light come out from the energy.
this is were I got that information from.

Have you ever wondered how a star is classified as a star? Well that's what I;m going to tell you now. They are classified by what they contain. They have to contain certain elements. They contain mainly hydrogen and helium.

The next thing that I will talk about is how the sun changes over periods of time. The sun changes by the temperature changing. On a chart there would be a ton of squigly lines because the temperature accasionally goes down then up then down then up and it goes like that for a long time.

Now I will talk about how the weight of the sun effects the color of the sun. The biggest stars are red giants so red stars are the biggest stars. Our sun is a middle sized and it is a yellow star. The smallest star is a green star.

SCIENCE FAIR 2012

Whats up!!!! this is Evan and today I will talk about the evil science fair of doom. This was my first science fair so I was super scared!

this is were I got the picture

This was my first science fair so I was super scared. For my science project I did an experiment with plants. My question was does boiling water affect the growth of a basil plant compared to tap water?

My original hypothesis was I think it will help the plant. I did more research on what happens to water when it are boiled and changed my hypothesis. My final hypothesis was I think boiling water will affect the growth because when the water is boiled it kills the nutrients and a plant needs that to grow.

I chose this topic because I like to learn about the way plants grow and how they can be affected.

When I was doing this project the easiest thing was watering the plants and doing the log book. The hardest thing was making the poster board because I had to do the essay and everything. I think that the high of the project was getting it done and the low was doing the poster board. One of the things I learned was that when you boil water it kills all the nutrients and I learned that a plant needs nutrients to grow.

When I was done I did feel proud because I felt like I put a lot of hard wok into the project and learned a lot. I feel like I presented it pretty good. I definitely felt better at the end than I did in the beginning because int eh beginning I felt like it would go bad but at the end I felt a lot better.

Something I would have done differently would be the way I plant the plants. I might plant them into the ground and let them get rained on and water them with boiling water so they get watered with normal water and boiling water.
